True Rosie Brix
I am a film and digital photographer with a never ending love for learning old & and new techniques.
Raised with the admiration, respect and gratitude towards the natural world, individuality in faces, nostalgia, empowerment and emotion has heavily influenced the themes and focuses of my work.
Constructing uplifting, creative and empowering spaces are my favourite part of being a photographer. I admire meeting and working with each person, capturing the unrepeatable uniqueness of the individual and space.
Watching my clients and friends grow are a constant inspiration. I seek a community that supports one another and works toward creating a world more sustainable and peaceful than the last. I strive to support all bodies and identities.
I would love to hear about your ideas, your celebrations, your new entrepreneurial ventures and your exiting and remarkable self.
I am honoured & privileged to be born, raised, work and play on the traditional & unceded territories of the We Wai Kai & Ligwilda'xw peoples.
When it comes to being behind the camera, my number one concern is the comfort and safety of the person on the other side. I encourage honest communication and space for the client to feel, move and present themselves in there own unique and lovely way.
To be in front of a camera is vulnerable, lots of feelings about oneself can come up when being in the focus of another person. Our bodies are our homes in which we move through this life, and because of this they hold all of the joys and pains of being human. To be able to create a supportive and comfortable space for others not only is an honour, but brings an immense amount of joy. My lens and eyes are here to help you feel seen, safe and celebrated.
My absolute favourite part about taking a persons photo is the moment the gasp and say “Wow, I look like this?” Which is the moment they see themselves through a different perspectives - a perspective that is focused on you, your power and your joy.
Portraiture is the spark that started this fire - the unrepeatable features of our faces, scars and spirit bring a completely different element to a photo or a piece of art. This form of representation not only helps us see the magic in our individualism but the undeniable realization that we are supported, encouraged and recognized.
I’m here to see you differently than you see yourself, to recognize your art form and create imagery based on your own fundamentals. To hold time itself and remind you of days long passed, to share with loved ones of the future. To uplift, create and empower you to admire and recognize yourself as other do. To create so loudly that others are encouraged to do the same.
