Photography is a powerful storyteller, holding the reminder of a moment that may have otherwise been lost to time. Photographs are time keepers, capturing evanescent moments that might have lasted mere seconds. These sweet chapters in time are recreated into tangible compositions. Each photograph tells your personalized story - a story that resonates beyond what is captured in the image itself. They are windows into the past, letting us glimpse into moments now memories. Each story is told with an unpaired influence of the subjects - each bring there own emotions, relationships and environments.
Photographing these passing moments are truly admirable. The feeling an old photograph passes on is timeless - they age with grace as the value of the warm, bittersweet memory increases. Film gives the photos a feeling of authenticity, like opening up an old photo album to find dusty, black & white images of relatives.
I mainly shoot film - it can ensure big surprises, wanted or not! This is my favourite thing about using film - the light leaks, dust marks and funky colours. This is a part of the film experience, however if you’re after a specific look we can chat about your expectations and what you want to see in your photos.
If you want to brave the elements - Ill be right there with you. I do however have to be mindful of my equipment, meaning there are few cameras that have the flame for adventure - but If you’re wanting to do something wild I can find the right camera to bring along to make your visions come to life. Rain, wind or water - I’m for it.
